hey guys!

sorry for the long disappearance but I’m back today with one great news. my baby’s back! and i have to say personally she’s a looker and I think I fall in love again! <3

3 weeks is such a long time and it took me much of my patience and obviously moolah (money) to restore her. whats up with my bike anyway? well approx. 4 weeks ago, it failed to start when I was trying to fire her for work. so after some consultancies from bro’s from bladers and zul oren, I decided to take her for repair, and at the same time to pimp her up since she was pretty much in a bad shape.

so what I (we) did was to first of all change her look by giving her a new paint job. its purely aspirated from 2010 ducati monster color scheme so I wont be surprised if anyone told me she looked like ducati monster! XD *perasan*

this is where the inspiration came from…

and here’s the result of the paint job to my bike:

the tank design. the stripe is stickers, and finished with clear paint to give its glossy effect.

so that’s pretty much sums up on the paint job. some of my friends asks “why red? its like the original color!”. my answer is hell yeah, I stick to red because I do not want to take risk on the end result coz some colors might look good, but its actually ugly when you apply it to the bike paint. So I’m playin safe here.

Apart of the paint job, there’s some changes and upgrades that I made to the bike. the most obvious one is I think the tyre and suspension. If you noticed, my bike look higher than it is before. thats because I changed the suspension to 650’s monoshock. It gives me more stability and durability while I ride my bike everyday to work and for my weekend ride.

The tyre changed to Battlax BT45 for rear:

Bridgestone Battlax BT45

Battlax BT45 is good for me because unlike other Battlax tyres, BT45 is actually made with dual compound; soft for the sides and hard on the center. So, it gives me balance between tyre durability and performance in corner. I’m more a into sports touring rater than sportsbiking so this tyre suits my needs.

And for the front tyre I’m using my fav, the Bridgestone Cyrox. Pure hard compund tyre on the front to give stability to the bike.

I didn’t touch anything on the engine, but I (we) did however dissemble the carb and retuned it. The reason for this is because the bike ’s tank was actually kaput (it was badly corroded) hence affected my whole carb. and the bike.  So we have to clean it up, otherwise the bike wont start. I would like to thank naza for giving me such a crappy tank that I have to change in 4 years.

There’s more changes, I wont go into details…. but the bike is not done yet. It’s only 80% done, there’s more changes to go especially on the exterior. This changes will gives my babe a new concept of my overall bike look. Stay tune for more, and I would like to thank my friends and family for supporting me especially during the time where I don’t have any ride and have to rely on public transport and friends and family  to take me here and there. p/s: in case you wondered, Ctrl+Z is a keyboard combination for “undo” command used in windows and linux application. the equivalent keyboard combination for mac os x is Apple+Z

hafretz birthday was on last Tuesday, 11 Feb.

so to celebrate this “special occasion”, we (me n joehans of rotationperminute) decided to belanja him makan at lookup point Ampang. it was a nice evening until it rains heavily. it was so heavy till we literally can’t see the view of KL anymore.

we sat at one of the platform of the restaurant. and the platform’s “bumbung” was made of cheap plastic. as it was pouring rain, we can see that the “bumbung” is not holding up to the pouring water very well as it started to get some shapes out of the rain. anyway, we ignored it and waited for our food and have a nice chit chat here n there, until hafretz speaks up his mind..

Hafretz: Dude, jom la tukar tempat. Ko tengok bumbung tu dah bertakung air.

Me: Chill la. Taakan roboh punya bumbung tu. Paranoid la ko ni.

Jow: Tu la Hafretz. Chill la.

As he fails to convinced us to change our table, he was looking very furious as he’s monitoring the “bumbung” shape all the time. And he speaks again..

Hafretz: Dude, bumbung tu dah takung air gila babi dow. Jom arr tukar table.

Me: Ala bro, no worries la.. taakan roboh bumbung tu. That’s newton’s 2nd law la. For every action there is reaction equal n opposite. Right now bumbung tu kene weight air, pasal tu dia melengkung. Jap lagi ok la tu.

Hafretz: Kepala hotak kau. Air bertakung dah boleh buat kolam jow mandi kot.

Jow: Siot ko apis. Rilex ah.

Jow’s char kuey teow arrived. As jow’s digging to his food, me joining in and kacau his kuey teow a bit. Hafretz looking really-really furious (ie tak sedap duduk). then suddenly..

Hafretz: LARIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!! *lari mcm lipas kudung*

Jow: ARGHHHH!!!! *started to lari after hafretz’s, around 2 second later*

Me: Huh? Was digging in to the char kuey teow n makan without any doubt  *bangun n joined them around 10 seconds later*

The roof feel off. Fortunately it only felt on 1 side of the dining area so nothing happens to us. Hafretz started to membebel..

Hafretz: Tu la aku dah cakap. Kan dah roboh. Nasib baik takde pape.

Jow: Apis, aku nak mengucapkan terima kasih kepada ko. 23 tahun aku mencari makna lipas kudung. Baru hari ni aku jumpa.

Me: Apa makna yg ko paham bro?

Jow: Lipas kudung – tindakan hafretz melarikan diri setelah melihat bumbung jatuh.

So kids, moral of the story is… jangan teragak-agak untuk mendengar kata kata amaran hafretz walaupun beliau agak paranoid, sometimes =P

hey fellas.

although we had past through middle of january 2010, i think (and hope) it is still not too late for me to share a bit about my 2009 experience and hope for the year 2010.

2009 has been a great year for me. to summarize 2009 was a blast… and hopefully same thing will happens in 2010.

I would like to share with you some of the things that i done in 2009:

1. Secure a permanent position with my current company as a network engineer (although I haven’t finish off my degree )

2. Settled off the installment of my bike

3.  Traveling to lots of new places (nature of my work requires me to do so)

4. Scored A for my final year project

5. Bought myself a lot of stuffs.. for example my current phone and my mac mini

6. Able to help my family (just a lil bit) in terms of financial

7. Loose 10 kgs in 3 months, although I’m getting back to my normal shape now

My 2010 resolution:

1. Finish off my degree + CCNA

2. Kick-off my own business

3. Stop smoking

4. Loose a lot of kgs

5. Start a healthy lifestyle (more physical and outdoor activities)

6. Start to make big bucks!

7. Pimp my bike *on the way!* =D

8. To find  someone who can accept and love me for who I am, and what I do (aka my true soulmate :p)

My 2010 wishlist:

1. Nokia N900

2. Dell Inspiron Mini 10v with 2 GB of RAM + hacked with mac os X =  ”home-made” apple netbook

3. iMac i7 *drool*

4. A car – a 1991 toyota corolla SEG modded with a toyota blacktop engine and with nice cosmetic accessories

5. A new bike? XD

6. Masaki matsushima MF1112 spectacles with transition lense

7. Holiday with my best buddies (anybody heard “Phuket”? )
